Voters, DO NOT SIGN YOUR BALLOT!
Our Lincoln County Elections Office included special instructions for absentee voters on colored paper from the Montana Secretary of State's Office to sign your ballot. This is a grave misinformation mistake. The ballot instruction brochure gave the correct instructions which was to sign the outside of the exterior envelope and include your birth year.
If you signed your actual voting ballot, this will result in your ballot being rejected without notice per the Statute #1313245. If you think that you signed your actual ballot and not the outside envelope, you will need to inform the Elections Office so that you can give instructions to spoil your ballot and have another issued to you. This close to Election Day, June 2nd, you will need to do this in person at the Election Office on 418 Mineral Avenue in Libby.
Please call the Elections Office at (406) 283-2302 if you have any questions or wish to spoil your ballot and be issued a new one.
