Medicaid answers

On July 4 of this year (2025), President Trump signed into law H.R.1, otherwise known as the "Big Beautiful Bill" (BBB). Among its many provisions are changes to Medicaid, and in particular to work requirements. This is especially salient at this time because governor Gianforte is proposing that Montana fast-track this provision.

The BBB "Adds work requirements for Medicaid recipients for the first time, with individuals ages 19 to 64 required to work at least 80 hours per month. Some exemptions would be offered for adults with dependent children ages 14 and under and those with medical conditions."

But what is considered "work"? How is it reported? What if you change jobs? What if your address changes? What if ........ ?
